A woman has died at the scene of a serious head-on crash northwest of Brisbane despite the best efforts of locals who rushed to her aid after the car she was driving was hit by a second car.

A woman has died at the scene of a serious head-on crash northwest of Brisbane, after the car she was driving collided with a second car.
The two-vehicle crash occurred on the D’Aguilar Highway about 8.45pm on Wednesday, with a Mercedes Benz that was travelling east along the D’Aguilar Highway colliding with the woman’s Nissan Navara that was travelling in the opposite direction near Spring Creek Road.
Queensland police say members of the public immediately rendered first aid to the 49-year-old Moore woman and male driver of the Mercedes involved in the crash.
The man, 21-year-old from Linville, was transported by air to hospital in a serious condition.
Investigations into the circumstances of the crash are continuing.
