Two southeast Queensland police officers have been stood down from official duty and each issued with a date to front court.
The two men have been investigated in relation to separate matters, with police today announcing the sergeant and senior-sergeant have been taken off official work for the time being.
As the subject of an investigation relating to computer hacking and misuse, a sergeant from the Brisbane Region has been ordered to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on June 30.
While in an unrelated matter, a senior constable from the Southern Region is the subject of an investigation relating to attempting to pervert the course of justice.
He will front Toowoomba Magistrates Court on July 14.
A statement from the Queensland Police Service today said the allegations against both officers have not been substantiated.
“In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when an officer faces serious allegations of misconduct,” the statement said.
“This does not mean the allegations against the officer have been substantiated.”
