Three men have been found guilty of the murder of two people whose bodies were found inside a metal box at the bottom of a creek.
Stou Daniels, Davy Malu Junior Taiao and Trent Michael Thrupp were found guilty of murdering Cory Breton and Iuliana Triscaru south of Brisbane in January 2016.
Their bodies were found inside a large toolbox dumped in Scrubby Creek after last being seen at a Kingston unit on January 4.
Mr Breton, 28, and Ms Triscaru, 31, were lured to the Kingston unit and tortured before being forced into the toolbox, the court heard.
A jury delivered its verdict on Friday following a retrial in Brisbane’s Supreme Court.
The men will be sentenced to life imprisonment for a second time.
Thrupp, Daniels and Taiao and were first tried together on charges of murder and torture in 2021 with a jury finding them all guilty.
The trio successfully appealed their murder convictions last year and a retrial, which started this month, was ordered.
Their appeal of the torture convictions, which saw them sentenced to years jail each, was unsuccessful.
The men will be sentenced on Thursday.
