Social media videos posted in the aftermath of a sickening alleged attack on a 13-year-old girl on the Sunshine Coast will form part of police investigations as family reveal the incident “broke all our hearts”.

Police will allege that on Saturday, March 11 the 13-year-old girl was invited into a Tewantin home where she was subsequently prevented from leaving and filmed while being assaulted, taunted and cut with a knife over the period of several hours.

The 13-year-old pleaded that she would “do anything” before her head is repeatedly stomped on, in a video viewed by The Courier-Mail.

On March 13, investigations led police to charge three girls, aged 12, 13, and 14 years with a number of serious offences including assault occasioning bodily harm, deprivation of liberty, armed robbery while in company used personal violence and common assault.

The girls took to social media on Wednesday and wrote “Going viral thanks guys love ya” and “Thanks for the fame”.

The victim’s sister told The Today Show on Thursday morning that the alleged attack “broke all of our hearts”.

“(My sister) is doing really well, everybody is supporting her … we’ve been getting heaps of messages from people we don’t even know,” the sister said.

“She is a very strong girl, very headstrong.

“Mum called me at 7am in the morning … she said ‘come to the hospital now’ …(mum) was crying her eyes out, shaking.”

The sister said the incident was “really hard” to process.

“It’s really hard because she had reached a point where she was really happy, we were listening to some messages, voice messages … she just sounded so happy and then for this to happen … I just can’t even describe,” she said.

“Considering that it was her supposed friends that did it, it broke all of our hearts … I don’t want to probe her too much, we are all just giving her love and trying to build her back up … she is so brave.”

“Her body is healing, physically she is healing … we are just so lucky that the injuries didn’t take her away from us.

“Mum has been through, she is living off three hours sleep.”

The teen’s distraught mother previously told The Courier-Mail her daughter was “befriended” by the teens just two weeks before she was invited to a “party” at the home.

“Her face was unrecognisable (after the attack), it was very scary.”

The mother said her daughter spent a week in hospital and that the family are now “hiding out” in an Airbnb.

The mother alleged after the girls tortured her daughter, they “showered her and made her clean up her own blood”.

She also alleged the girls then “escorted” the 13-year-old home and threatened her that if she told anyone they would “kill her family”, including the 13-year-old’s three-year-old brother.

“When I saw her (after the incident) she was trying to defend these girls saying ‘they saved my life, I got jumped on the way to their house’ … they guarded her so she couldn’t tell the truth but I knew that something was off,” the mother said.

“She was extraordinarily fearful that they were going to hurt us.”

Investigations are continuing.
