Teens charged with property offences after allegedly targeting 16 Brisbane suburbs

Four teenagers have been charged over a string of property offences across Brisbane, with footage released by police showing the teenagers hiding in cupboards during their arrest.

Four teenagers have been charged over a string of property offences across Brisbane, with footage released by police showing the teenagers hiding in cupboards during their arrest.

Police allege the teenagers committed a series of property crime between December 29 and January 15 across multiple suburbs including Hamilton, Wilston, Wavell Heights, Newmarket, Balmoral, Morningside, Bridgeman Downs, Ashgrove, Tingalpa, Bardon, Thornlands, Springfield, Auchenflower, Belmont, Woolloongabba and Hawthorne.

Boondall Tactical Crime Squad and Hendra Criminal Investigation Branch arrested the four teenagers on January 15 at a Tingalpa address and allegedly found a stolen car.

Police said a number of the teens were found in cupboards.

A 17-year-old Sunnybank Hills boy was charged with multiple offences including five counts of unauthorised use of a motor vehicle (UUMV), four counts of attempted enter with intent, three counts of enter and commit, two counts of stealing a vehicle, and one count each of enter with intent, fraud, enter with intent armed and in company, attempted enter dwelling with intent, attempted enter premise, attempted enter dwelling with intent in company, and obstruct police.

A 15-year-old Redbank Plains boy was charged with five counts of UUMV, three counts each of stealing and attempted enter dwelling with intent, two counts of trespass, and one count each of attempted enter with intent, enter with intent while armed in company, attempted enter premise and attempted enter dwelling with intent in company.

A 17-year-old Crestmead boy was charged with three counts each of attempted enter premise with intent, and UUMV, and two counts of attempted enter dwelling with intent.

A 16-year-old South Ripley boy was charged with one count each of enter dwelling and commit and UUMV.

They all appeared in Brisbane Childrens Court on January 16 and were remanded in custody and were due to reappear in court on January 21.
