Teens charged over alleged knifepoint robbery of bottle shop on Grey St, South Brisbane

Two teenagers, one aged 14, have been charged after they allegedly held up a bottle shop while armed with a knife in one of Brisbane’s busiest dining precincts.

Knife wielding teens arrested for alleged bottle shop robbery

Two teenagers have been charged after they allegedly held up a bottle shop while armed with a knife and threw a bottle of alcohol.

The two boys allegedly entered the Fleet Street Bottle Shop on Grey Street at South Brisbane on Thursday and stole items before running away.

Police allege one of the boys, aged 14, returned to the bottle shop about 7.15pm while armed with a knife and demanded cash for a male employee.

During the incident a bottle of alcohol was allegedly thrown in the shop at shelves.

The boy allegedly left the scene carrying the money with a 17-year-old boy who was waiting in the front.

No-one was physically injured during the incident and police arrested the boys shortly after on Grey Street.

A 17-year-old Holmview boy was charged with one count each of armed robbery and stealing.

He was refused police bail and is due to appear in Brisbane Children’s Court today.

A 14-year-old Upper Coomera boy was charged with one count each of armed robbery and stealing.

He is due to appear in Brisbane Children’s Court on March 7.
