A teenager has been charged over a brazen, daylight home invasion where the residents were threatened with a kitchen knife.

A teenager has been charged over a brazen, daylight home invasion on Wednesday where the residents of a Townsville home were threatened with a kitchen knife.
Initial investigation suggest that at 12.37pm a man allegedly armed with a knife arrived at a Santal Drive, Rasmussen home, and threatened the residents, a man and a woman, demanding keys to their car.
The residents were able to lock the security door and shut the man out, however he then entered the house through the garage door.
The residents quickly called emergency services and the man fled the scene. Police located him a short distance away.
The 18-year-old Cloncurry man was charged with one count each of enter dwelling while armed, attempted armed robbery with violence, attempt to enter dwelling while armed and possession of a knife in a public place.
He will appear before the Townsville Magistrates Court on Friday, June 22.
The residents were uninjured in the incident.
