Detectives have released details of a woman they believe was at the wheel of the car that hit and killed senior constable David Masters on the Bruce Highway north of Brisbane yesterday.
Police allege Caboolture woman Skye Anne Wallis, 33, was driving the stolen car when it hit the 53-year-old officer as he lay road spikes on the Bruce Highway at Burpengary.
Detective Superintendent Craig Morrow this afternoon urged Ms Wallis to hand herself into authorities.
“Of course Skye if you are watching this or listening to this there’s an opportunity for you to present to a local police station and hand yourself in,” he said.
Det Supt Morrow said police would allege Ms Wallis deliberately drove at Snr Const Masters.
“The actions of the vehicle and the course of the direction it took lead us to believe that it was a deliberate act,” he said.
Police yesterday arrested Kari O’Brien, 24, who they allege was a passenger in the car.
Ms O’Brien was charged with murder, arson and unlawful use of a motor vehicle and will appear in Caboolture Magistrates Court on Monday.
Ms Wallis is described as 170cm tall, Caucasian, with dyed silver hair and brown eyes.
She is known to have connections with the North Brisbane and Moreton areas.
Anyone with information about Ms Wallis’s whereabouts is urged to contact police.
