The horrifying moment a Bandidos bikie was shot in broad daylight by a rival gang member outside a busy shopping centre can now be shown for the first time after the shooter was found guilty.

Rebels Logan chapter sergeant-at-arms Lucas James Pain was this week sentenced to 13 years’ prison for the brazen attack on Harley Cranston, a member of the rival Bandidos bikie gang.

Pain was found guilty by a jury of the February 2019 shooting and was sentenced to six years’ prison and declared a serious violent offender, meaning he will have to serve 80 per cent of that term behind bars.

He also became the first person in Queensland to be slapped with a mandatory cumulative seven-year jail term for the serious organised crime circumstance of aggravation due to his outlaw-motorcycle-gang links.

It means Pain will be forced to serve a minimum of 11 years of the 13-year sentence behind bars.

The Courier-Mail can now show the CCTV footage of the terrifying incident at the Hyperdome Shopping Centre in Loganholme south of Brisbane that was played to a District Court jury during Pain’s trial.

Prosecutors had alleged that the then-president of the Logan chapter of the Rebels OMCG Joshua John Lucey had hatched a plan to “ambush” Mr Cranston during a meeting at a restaurant inside the centre.

Lucey was found not guilty of any wrongdoing.

In the CCTV vision, Mr Cranston can be seen meeting three members of the Rebels at a restaurant where they sit for a time before abruptly jumping to their feet and appear to be arguing.

They all then leave the restaurant and moments later seven other members of the Rebels gang are seen sprinting toward the same exit Mr Cranston and the other men left through.

The court heard the Rebels had been “staged” around in the centre, lying in wait to ambush Mr Cranston.

In the moments that follow, Mr Cranston can be seen running to his car where he pulls out a machete and returns to the centre, weapon in hand.

He can be seen jumping out of the way of a vehicle driving on the wrong side of the road outside the shopping centre which is alleged to have been driven by Rebels members.

Mr Cranston is then shown talking to someone inside a silver car when the white vehicle returns and he flinches as she is shot in the leg and he attempts to hide behind the silver vehicle before fleeing.

A Rebels member is then seen throwing a large item at the windscreen of the silver car.

An injured and bleeding Mr Cranston flees through the shopping centre with machete in hand, going the wrong way up escalators and past shocked families with children.

He then stows the machete down the back of his pants as he continues through the centre

In several other frames, the Rebels gang members can be seen fleeing the shopping centre on foot.

The bullet went through Mr Cranston’s leg and despite his injury, he never made a formal complaint to police and took two days to seek medical attention.
