The desperate search to find an 84-year-old Brisbane man who went missing two days ago has ended in tragedy.

The search for an 84-year-old man who went missing two days ago has ended in tragedy after his body was found by SES volunteers.

Runcorn resident So Mao Lam was reported missing after leaving his Runcorn residence for his daily walk about 5.30am on Monday.

Police made a number of appeals to the public to help find Mr Lam, who suffered from a medical condition.

His family confirmed on Wednesday morning that they had received a call from the SES to say that Mr Lam’s body had been found.

Police said there were no suspicious circumstances and police would prepare a report for the Coroner.
