Teens arrested after scooter rider allegedly threatened with machete
Two teenagers have been charged in relation to a series of alleged armed robberies in Brisbane’s south on Friday night involving a machete, police say.

Two teenagers have been charged in relation to a series of alleged armed robberies in Brisbane’s south on Friday night involving a machete.
Police allege a 23-year-old man was travelling on an e-scooter on Marshall Rd through Tarragindi when he was stopped along Kuring Gai Ave shortly about 12.20am Saturday.
A silver vehicle pulled up behind him and the occupants exited the vehicle and approached the man, threatening him with a machete, police allege.
The man fled the scene on foot to a nearby service station and was not physically injured.
The group stole the man’s scooter and fled the scene in the two vehicles, it is alleged.
Later that night, around 1.40am Saturday, a 29-year-old Rochedale man was travelling on a motorbike along Gardiner Road through Rochedale when the same silver vehicle pulled up next to him.
The occupants of the vehicle allegedly struck at him with a machete.
The man continued on towards a fast-food restaurant on Miles Platting Rd and the group followed him before they allegedly threatened the man and demanded his keys.
The man complied and the group took his motorbike, police allege, leaving the scene in the two vehicles.
The man was not physically injured.
It will be further alleged the same two males were also involved in an attempted armed robbery at a South Brisbane address and an armed robbery in Woolloongabba, both on Friday, December 27.
Arrests were made at a Springfield home on Saturday afternoon.
A 17-year-old boy has been charged with three counts of robbery while armed and in company and unlawful use of a motor vehicle, as well as one count of attempted armed robbery.
He is due to appear at Brisbane Children’s Court on Monday December 30.
The second teenager, an 18-year-old man, was charged with three counts of robbery while armed and in company and unlawful use of a motor vehicle, as well as one count of attempted armed robbery.
He is due to appear at Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday December 30.
Both teenagers have been refused bail as investigations continue.
