A senior Queensland police officer has been served a notice to appear and stood down for allegedly driving a motor vehicle while over the legal alcohol limit.

A police officer has been served a notice to appear and stood down for allegedly driving a motor vehicle while over the legal alcohol limit.
The 50-year-old female senior sergeant from the Crime and Intelligence Command was allegedly over the general alcohol limit but below the middle alcohol limit.
She was off duty at the time.
The officer was stood down from the Queensland Police Service and is expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on March 5 for one count of driving a motor vehicle while over the general alcohol limit but below the middle alcohol limit.
