Police are investigating the death of a Frances Crawford (left) after the 49-year-old died at her Upper Lockyer home on July 30.

The husband of a woman found dead in the Lockyer Valley had relationships with multiple women all over the world and in Australia, with police now appealing for those women to come forward with information.

Detective Superintendent George Marchesini made the appeal in a press conference on Friday after the death of Frances Crawford, 49, who was found dead at the bottom of a retaining wall at her Upper Lockyer property on July 30.

Ms Crawford was located dead by emergency services about 3.40am after her husband Robert Crawford called triple-0.

Emergency Services were told the mother of three was involved in a “mower rollover” but within days the Queensland Police Service confirmed the 49-year-old’s death was being treated as suspicious.

Ms Crawford’s husband, Robert Crawford, has been assisting police with the investigation, which police are now treating as a possible murder. He has not been charged. Police have not identified a suspect.

Superintendent Marchesini said police had become aware that Mr Crawford had relationships with women who may have information about Ms Crawford and their marriage.

This included women he met on dating applications and through Mr Crawford’s personal life and line of work. Mr Crawford had a decorated career in RAAF.

“We are confident there are people who are out there who have vital information who can contribute to solving this matter.

“We believe there are women involved in relationships with Mr Crawford who may have information about Frances who can assist with the investigation.

“We can say Mr Crawford has connected with women nationally and internationally, specifically Italy, United States of America, Papua New Guinea, Guam, Afghanistan, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, and nationally in Western Australia, ACT, Northern Territory, New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland.”

Superintendent Marchesini did not suggest Mr Crawford was a suspect.

“He had located Frances that morning and contacted emergency services. And at this point he has been assisting police with inquiries.”

Superintendent Marchesini said police had previously been called to the household for domestic violence.

“Police did attend back in 2023, I believe July, and that was regards to a call for service in regards to domestic and family violence.

“There are no orders in place, and there were no orders in place when she died.”

Superintendent Marchesini said they have not been able to determine the injuries that caused her death.

“There’s been extensive forensic testing, that included pathologist testing, as a result of that we can’t definitively determine how she had come to be at the bottom of the retaining wall and that remains subject to the investigation.”

Superintendent Marchesini said Mr Crawford was the last person to see his wife alive the evening of her death.

“He located Frances that morning and contacted emergency services.”
