Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate the person who published a video just moments after a hit-and-run in Logan earlier this year.

Kingston father Connor McLeod, 25, sustained life-threatening injuries after he was struck by an unregistered trail bike at Loganlea on February 18.

Police will allege an orange unregistered trail bike was travelling north on Kingston Rd when it collided with Mr McLeod – a pedestrian – at the intersection of Kingston Rd and Battle St.

Police will further allege the rider failed to remain at the scene.

Mr McLeod was rushed to the Princess Alexandra Hospital but has since been discharged, according to a GoFundMe created on behalf of the 25-year-old.

Just days after the crash, police charged a 21-year-old man with multiple offences including dangerous operation of a vehicle causing grievous bodily harm and left scene of incident without obtaining help, unlicensed driving, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and unregistered and uninsured vehicle.

As part of ongoing investigations, police are seeking to locate the person who published a video moments after the incident to a social media page in Moreton.

Investigators believe the individual may have information vital to the investigation.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, has relevant dashcam or CCTV footage, or can assist in identifying the person who uploaded the video is urged to contact police.

Mr McLeod’s mother, who wished to remain anonymous, previously told The Courier-Mail that her son would be off work for some time.

Mr McLeod’s fiancee Anneliese Rodger described her partner as a “wonderful dad”. She has

since set up a GoFundMe.

“Recently, Connor was walking across a road at a set of lights when a dirt bike ran a red light and hit him before taking off again,” she wrote.

“Connor has sustained serious injuries to his upper body and head that will leave him with a lengthy recovery.

“Connor is the main provider for our family, bringing in around 75 per cent of our total income. While he is in recovery our family will need help to stay afloat and to help him recover from his injuries.”

Ms Rodger provided an update on April 2 saying: “Connor is now home with us. He still has a long road ahead with his recovery but at least now we have him home with us.”

Police are appealing for public assistance, with the Forensic Crash Unit urging witnesses and anyone with relevant dashcam or CCTV vision, particularly the movements of the unregistered trail bike, prior to and after the crash, to come forward.

Investigations remain ongoing.
