Kai Fursey, 28, charged with murder after fatal Uber crash at Wacol
A young man has been charged with murder after an alleged hit-and-run incident in Wacol last week which claimed the life of a Gold Coast man.

A young Goodna man has been charged with murder following a fatal traffic crash in Wacol last week.
Police at the time said the driver of a Ford Mondeo hit the Uber at the intersection of Boundary Rd and Progress Rd about 2am on May 28 before the Ford’s driver allegedly fled on foot.
The Uber passenger, Gold Coast man Ryan Grafton, died on scene, while the rideshare driver and a second passenger were taken to hospital.
Kai Fursey, 28, was taken into custody on Monday night after handing himself in to Acacia Ridge police.
He has been charged with one count each of murder, dangerous operation of a vehicle causing grievous bodily harm, driving whilst disqualified, possess property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and two counts each of possessing dangerous drugs, receiving tainted property and stealing.
Police have also released footage showing a man running from the crash scene past a service station.
It comes a week after he allegedly left the scene of a crash on Boundary and Progress Rd which killed a man and seriously injured two others.
Investigations are continuing.
Fursey’s matter was briefly mentioned in Brisbane Arrest Court on Wednesday.
Defence lawyer Elizabeth Main appeared as town agent for TWC Lawyers on his behalf.
The matter was adjourned for committal mention on June 24.
Fursey, who did not appear, was remanded in custody.
