A crime scene has been declared at a rural residential Gympie property after a number of shots were fired at what neighbours described as a “notorious” house along the otherwise peaceful road on Friday morning.
Police were called to Friske Road at Victory Heights, on the eastern outskirts of Gympie, following reports of shots fired into a residence about 9am.
Early investigations indicated a number of bullets were fired into the front of the house, with a group of people forcing entry into the home.
A ute was stolen from the address and damage caused to other vehicles and the house.
The group fled in the stolen ute and in other unknown vehicles.
No-one was injured.
Police believe the occupants of the home and the group are known to each other and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
Police said they were speaking to witnesses and there was no further information available at this time.
A crime scene has been declared and investigations are continuing.
