Police say an unloaded police-issued Glock and Taser have been stolen from a locked hotel room in a break-in at Miriam Vale, near Gladstone.
Officers said the locked room at Miriam Vale Hotel was broken into between 6.15pm yesterday and 8.30am today.
The Glock, Taser and other personal items were stolen. The ammunition and Taser cartridge were stored in other areas in the room and were not stolen.
It’s unclear if anyone else was in the room at the time of the break-in.
“Detectives are appealing for members of the public who may have witnessed anyone acting suspiciously in the vicinity of Blomfield Street overnight to contact them,” police said in a statement
“Anyone who locates the firearm or Taser is advised not to touch them and immediately call Triple Zero (000).”
Police said a concurrent internal investigation by the Operations Support Command was underway, with oversight by the Ethical Standards Command.
