“My beautiful wife Amy, you are my soulmate,” she wrote.

“The happiest moments of my life are with you. Of all the amazing times we had together, and all the times we never will. I love you forever and ever. A piece of my heart went with you. Our time was cut short, and although I’ll never be whole again I’ll do my best to live on for you, for us. May you rest peacefully baby. until we meet again xxx.”

Amy was last seen captured on CCTV footage driving her white Nissan Patrol towards the Bruce Highway and Bribie Island interchange.

Police confirmed the vehicle was found submerged near Spinnaker Sound Boat Ramp, Sandstone Point, about 11am Friday.

Water Police and Dive Squad officers had commenced a search operation in waters off Bribie Island and Sandstone Point at 8am.

Forensic examinations on the interior of the car continue.

Amy’s disappearance sparked a statewide search from police and a Facebook group with more than 30,000 members, including Australian celebrities Constance Hall and Em Rusciano, was set up by Amy’s friends.

Her devastated parents, wife and loved ones, erected a billboard and distributed flyers across the region in their desperate search to find her.

“I just want to thank my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has done so much for us, from sending prayers, printing and distributing flyers and stickers and battling the elements searching for our beloved Amy,” her wife Rebecca Schulkins said in February.

Friend Annaliese Carter had been searching for Amy for seven months.

Ms Carter, who Amy used to call ‘Steiny’, went to the boat ramp this afternoon after receiving a phone call from Amy’s wife Rebecca.

“After so long looking I just needed to come here, for a bit of closure,” she said.

“When she went missing I just needed to help out so I jumped in. It’s been seven good months of trying to find her.

“You name it, we’ve searched there, there’s been no stone left unturned. We’ve searched waterways, wherever we’ve been able to look, we have.

“Her parents have been four-wheel-driving forestry, anywhere they’ve been able to get to.”

Ms Carter wished to thank everybody who had helped in the search for Amy including the 30,000 friends and strangers on the Official Search team for Amy Schulkins Facebook page.

She encouraged anyone going through a hard time to reach out to a friend.

“I just think the biggest advice I can give is if you’re feeling low, if you’re having a hard time with life or just having a bad day or feeling like you need to give up just reach out to a friend,” she said.

“I wish she’d just reached out to one of us. That’s probably the biggest thing, we could have saved her if she’d reach out.”
