Police charge man for allegedly evading border rules twice
A Brisbane man who allegedly sped across the Queensland border on Saturday, and then tried again on foot four hours later after a car crash, has been charged and will face court tomorrow.

A Brisbane man has been charged after he allegedly entered Queensland without a relevant border pass twice, speeding through a checkpoint to get into the state.
Police will allege the 33-year-old man entered through a border checkpoint at Goondiwindi around 12.15pm on Saturday.
He was issued with an official direction to immediately leave Queensland after investigations found he did not have the relevant border pass or exemption.
It is alleged the Annerley man sped through the border checkpoint instead of returning to New South Wales.
The car was seen fleeing along the Cunningham Highway after police attempts to intercept him at the border failed.
About two hours later, police were called to a single-vehicle crash on the Gore Highway 25km away from Goondiwindi, where police located the man.
Police arrested him and issued him infringement notices before they let him go and returned him across the border.
Around 3.50pm police were notified that a man was hitchhiking and allegedly trying to enter Queensland.
Police found the man soon after he crossed a local bridge and entered the state.
The man was arrested and charged with two counts of failing to comply with Covid-19 public health direction, and one each of evading police and driving without due care and attention.
He has been denied police bail and remanded in custody to appear in the Warwick Magistrates Court on Monday.
