An internal investigation continues into a crash at Logan that occurred moments after a police pursuit was abandoned.

A 34-year-old Logan woman was left in a critical condition when the red Jeep Wrangler she was driving rolled several times on Logan River Rd at Bethania on May 19 about 3pm.

Police had been pursuing the vehicle due to the woman driving dangerously but called off the pursuit due to safety concerns.

Motorists who may have dashcam vision that captured the vehicle have been asked to contact police.

“Preliminary inquiries indicate around 4pm on May 19, the 4WD travelling along Logan River Road when it will be alleged the driver lost control causing the vehicle to roll several times before coming to rest on the Albert Street off ramp,” a Queensland Police Service statement read.

“The driver, a 43-year-old Logan woman, was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital and remains in a critical condition.

“Investigators are appealing for anyone who saw the 4WD or has dashcam vision to contact police.”

The site of the crash is less than 200m from where two people were killed in June last year.
