A 42-year-old Pinkenba man has been charged for an alleged armed robbery and assault in South Brisbane on Sunday.
Emergency services were called to a location near Edmondstone Street and Cordelia Street at around 6pm on Sunday following reports of an assault.
A 42-year-old man allegedly assaulted a 42-year-old Leichhardt man with a metal pole and stole the other man’s phone, before fleeing the scene on foot.
Upon arrival, officers conducted patrols of the area and found the Pinkenba man at the intersection of Merivale Street and Melbourne Street and took him into custody.
The 42-year-old Leichhardt man was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment for minor injuries.
The 42-year-old Pinkenba man has been charged with one count each of threatening violence, robbery armed and assaults occasioning bodily harm while armed.
The two men were allegedly known to each other.
He is due before Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday, December 16.
