Phoebe Bishop’s mother has made an emotional vow to her family to bring her daughter home, no matter how long it takes, after her housemates were charged with murder.
It comes after Pheobe’s sister, Kaylea, made a tearful plea outside court: “I don’t know what to say, if you’ve got any information about Pheobe or the car, just come forward.”
“Three weeks is too long for us as a family,” she said
“We just want her home … she was loved, she’s missed dearly.”
Kylie Johnson later shared this publication’s social media post featuring Pheobe’s sister, writing: “Kaylea your strength, determination and dedication to bring Phee Phee home is such a reflection of your fierce love for your sister.
“Pheobe would be so proud of the way you handled yourself today just as we are. We will bring Phee home I don’t care how long it takes but we will get her home.”
Earlier Ms Johnson told The Courier-Mail on Friday: “We just need to locate her and bring her home,” she said.
Housemates James Wood, 34 and Tanika Bromley, 33, both had their matters mentioned in Bundaberg Magistrates Court on Friday morning and were remanded in custody with their matters adjourned until August 11.
Local resident Mandy Hart was outside court on Friday morning with a poster that read: “Justice for Pheobe. RIP.”
“When are girls going to stop going missing?,” she said.
“I do a lot of walking in the main street … I see her face every step in the street … it slaps you in the face everywhere in Bundaberg.
“I don’t know anybody in Bundaberg that hasn’t been affected by this.”
Inspector Craig Mansfield thanked the Bundaberg and Gin Gin community, with more than 200 investigation calls and tip-offs.
“While this part of our investigation has culminated in the arrests, we are not finished with this investigation, our primary focus has always been to locate Pheobe,” Insp Mansfield said.
“That will continue.”
Insp Mansfield said search efforts would increase to find the teen.
“Our focus has always been to bring Pheobe home. Our focus is to continue to do that,” he said.
Wood’s vehicle was last night seized by police.
