The man accused over an attack on an ambulance which left an elderly patient showered with glass has been identified as OnlyFans performer Reuben Mickael Gary Ralph.
The 27-year-old has been charged with multiple offences after he allegedly threw a spanner through the back window of an ambulance in an ugly road rage incident at Woolloongabba on Monday.
Ralph, a concreter, did not make an application for bail when his case was mentioned in Southport Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
The court was told he was struggling with mental health concerns and required further assessment at Gold Coast University Hospital.
His case was adjourned to August 29.
Monday’s incident happened as paramedics were transporting an 83-year-old man from the Mater Hospital.
The ambulance was stationary on Leopard St, between Vulture and Stanley streets, when the Peregian Springs man allegedly got out of a car and hurled the spanner through the back window, shattering it.
The spanner landed on the vacant stretcher behind the passenger seat, right next to the patient who was on a stretcher on the driver’s side.
He was left showered with glass. He and the two paramedics were assessed for injuries, but fortunately no one was hurt.
The man was also allegedly involved in wilful damage of two vehicles, one on Bromley Street, Kangaroo Point and another near Vulture Street, South Brisbane.
Police tracked the vehicle as it travelled south on the Pacific Motorway towards the Gold Coast.
It will be alleged the vehicle continued driving in a dangerous manner and struck and damaged several vehicles.
The man abandoned his Nissan Navara on the motorway near Exit 87, allegedly stealing a truck from a nearby construction site.
Police intercepted the truck at Elanora and the driver allegedly fled on foot.
He was arrested nearby shortly after.
The allegedly stolen truck was located on Pines Lane, Elanora.
Ralph was charged with one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, three counts of dangerous operation of a vehicle and four counts of wilful damage.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said it was “a disgusting act of violence”.
“Our hardworking frontline, looking after sick Queenslanders, do not deserve to be attacked and we condemn these actions,” he said.
“This low act has endangered the lives of paramedics and their patient, and forced an emergency vehicle off the road while repairs are undertaken.”
Ralph’s social media accounts include links to an OnlyFans page and associated Instagram account, on which he boasts that “God blessed me” with a “big beautiful d..k”.The page features photos of him posing semi-naked.
