The identities of two men who allegedly threw a suburb into chaos during a 20-hour siege on the Gold Coast can be revealed after they faced court on Saturday.
Chase John Haskell, 32, of Labrador, and Tyson James Finney, 25, of Tugun, were arrested on Thursday after allegedly holding police at bay for almost 24 hours during a siege holed up in a Nerang home.
The stand-off sent the area into lockdown, with a school, childcare centre and numerous residential streets blocked off from about 3pm Wednesday until about 11am Thursday.
Some residents caught out by the sudden road closures were forced to endure a freezing night sleeping in their cars while police negotiated with the armed men inside the home.
Neither man was present in Southport Magistrates Court on Saturday for a brief mention of the case and no applications were made for bail.
Finney has been charged with three counts of unauthorised possession of medicines, three counts of possessing dangerous drugs, one count each of stealing, receiving tainted property, armed robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possession of a shortened firearm and possess explosives (ammunition).
Haskell has been charged with wilful damage, stealing, receiving tainted property, armed robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possessing dangerous drugs, possession offense to possess medicines, possession of a shortened firearm, possess explosives (ammunition) and possess property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence.
They were also wanted over return to prison warrants.
Matters against both men were adjourned until July 26 for committal mention.
