Men charged, teen arrested over alleged robbery of woman driver

Police have charged two men and a teenager is being dealt with under the Youth Justice Act after an alleged robbery involving violence on Saturday in Toowoomba.

Police have charged two men and a teenager is being dealt with under the Youth Justice Act after an alleged robbery involving violence on Saturday in Toowoomba.

A 28-year-old woman was reversing a blue Toyota Camry outside an address on Faith St in Rangeville just before 6am when she was confronted by two men and forced out of the vehicle, police allege.

The men then allegedly left the scene in that vehicle. The woman sustained only minor injuries during the incident.

It is also alleged the vehicle was used during a break and enter at a business on Commerce Drive in Logan’s Browns Plains on January 7.

On Monday the car was involved in a single-vehicle crash at Mort St, Toowoomba, where the two occupants fled the scene.

Police arrested a 19-year-old Oakey man and 16-year-old male nearby.

The 19-year-old has been charged with multiple offences including robbery with violence, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and four counts of unlicensed driving.

He has been refused police bail and is expected to appear before the Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

A 20-year-old man was also charged with robbery with violence, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and three counts of stealing.

The 16-year-old male is being dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.
