Man suffers critical injuries as car hits tree at Stockleigh

A man is fighting for life in hospital after the vehicle he was travelling left the road, crashed into a tree and rolled at Logan early Saturday morning.

A man is fighting for life in hospital after the vehicle he was travelling left the road, crashed into a tree and rolled at Logan early Saturday morning.

Paramedics responded to reports of a serious single-vehicle rollover on the corner of Mollenhagen and Stockleigh roads at Stockleigh about 12.30am.

Police have confirmed the silver Holden Commodore was travelling east when it left Stockleigh Rd and crashed into a tree

The driver of the vehicle, a 23-year-old Park Ridge man, was rushed to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with life-threatening head injuries.

He was trapped in the vehicle for some time.

The passenger, a 22-year-old Stockleigh man was also taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition with soft tissue injuries.

Forensic Crash Unit investigations are ongoing and will establish if speed was a contributing factor to the crash.

Investigators are appealing to any witnesses, or anyone with relevant dashcam vision to come forward.
