Man stabbed multiple times, teens charged after violent carjacking

A 43-year-old man has been stabbed multiple times following a carjacking on Brisbane’s southside early on Thursday.

The Courier-Mail understands the man was stabbed outside a medical centre on the corner of Wembley and Kingston roads at Logan Central.

He was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with wounds to his abdomen and arms following the alleged assault just before 1am.

A Queensland Police spokeswoman said the two offenders fled the scene in a car but were taken into custody a short time later and have since been charged.

Police will allege the man, who works as a cleaner, was parked outside a medial centre when he was approached by a 16-year-old Logan Central boy who produced a knife and demanded car keys, a wallet and a watch.

The boy allegedly stabbed the man causing non-life threatening injuries to his abdomen and elbow, then fled in a car.

Police say they located the vehicle travelling south on the Pacific Motorway, intercepted the vehicle and arrested the driver and a passenger and seized a knife.

The 16-year-old was charged with one count armed robbery, wounding and unlawful use of a motor vehicle. He was denied police bail and is due to face the Beenleigh Childrens Court this month.

The 15-year-old Eden’s Landing Boy was charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle. He was denied police bail and is due to appear in the Beenleigh Childrens Court this month.

Investigations are continuing.
