A man was rushed to hospital after a shooting in Logan Sunday morning, in what is believed to be a targeted attack, with a neighbour’s car peppered with bullets and his house shot in the chaos.
Blood trails could be seen along the suburban footpath.
It comes after emergency services were called to a reported street disturbance at Kingston Rd, Slacks Creek, just after 8.15am.
A 35-year-old male who received a gunshot wound to his left leg was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.
According to police, three offenders, two males and one female in their 20s, were last seen leaving the area on foot.
Police believe it is a targeted attack and there is no threat to the public.
There is no suggestion of any wrongdoing by the victim or any of the occupants of the home.
Investigations into the shooting are ongoing and police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with vision within the vicinity from 8am, to come forward.
Neighbour Iosua Taufua woke up to the sound of a loud bang before he found his Kia Sportage wagon had been peppered with bullets.
“I was inside sleeping and I heard this loud bang coming from next door,” he said.
“So I walked out and there was car speeding away and it took another shot and that shot, it got my car and the window as well.”
Mr Taufua said he later saw a man - who he says does not live at the house - being rushed out of the house by paramedics.
The father said he was glad his children were not outside when the shooting happened.
“Imagine if my kids were out here at the wrong time, what would have happened then?” he said.
Neighbour Troy H called police after his dog alerted him to a man, who was covered in blood, on his property.
“I was just sitting on the lounge watching TV and my dog jumped up and raced out onto the veranda and started whimpering,” he said.
“I got up to have a look, and there was a guy standing in my yard. His left thigh was just covered in blood, he was in his underwear.
“I told him to get the f**k out and close the gate before the dog attacked him.
“He sort of argued a bit, and then he went out, closed the gate and headed up north.”
Troy H said the a group of women chased the man, who left a blood trail as he made his way through the neighbourhood.
“Then four or five girls come running up after him, all in their underwear, wrapped his leg up in a towel, and dragged him back down to the house,” he said.
“So I called the police and ambulance, I wandered down to go and render assistance, but they told me to go away, and then I’ve just stayed out here and kept an eye on everything until the police turned up.
“He’s left blood trails everywhere, all up near the footpath. My whole front driveway was covered in blood.”
Another neighbour, Mumtahena Zaara, said it was “nerve wracking” to find out a shooting had happened so close to her home.
“I heard a really loud bang, but there was no yelling or really any other sound, so I didn’t think much of it,” she said.
“It is nerve-wracking that a shooting has happened so close to our house.”
