A man has been shot and two people on the run after allegedly fleeing the scene in Brisbane’s north.
Shots were reported fired at a residence in Ferricks St, Stafford, about 2pm on Sunday.
A man aged in his 40s was found with a life-threatening gunshot wound to his leg and taken to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
Police alleged two people left the scene before officers arrived.
They tracked a car and a man and a woman, who do not live at the house, were arrested on Midson St about 3.15pm.
But following questioning, the pair were released on Monday without charge.
Investigations remain ongoing to find those responsible.
The Courier-Mail does not suggest any wrongdoing by the home’s occupants.
A police spokeswoman said: “Investigations into the circumstances are continuing however it is believed the trio are known to each other and there is no threat to public safety.”
CCTV footage given to The Courier-Mail shows a man driving up to the house before getting out while hopping on one leg.
Moments after he arrives shots can be heard being fired, and a woman can be heard screaming.
Shortly after two men can be seen leaving in cars.
Neighbour Rosana Romano said she was terrified when she heard the shots.
“We were just having a family lunch, and just heard this loud bang and kerfuffle,” she said.
“And then two guys jumped into two different cars, a red car and a black car, and drove off and then after that, we just heard a bit of movement.
“And triple-0 was called because we thought that there was a fatality.”
“We didn’t know how many bangs or how many bullets were going to be shot after that.
“And if they would ricochet so we ran inside and I closed the doors.”
Ms Romano said about five minutes later police came and blocked off all the street.
Then 45 minutes later she said there was another commotion.
“We went outside again as I was having a family lunch and we were told to get back inside,” she said.
“We heard all this screaming and the road spikes were put out.
“My children were home, so it’s that loud bang, it just rocks your world.
“It’s not something that you hear every day, you know. So it’s foreign to us to hear that type of noise.”
