Two people have been arrested and charged in a dramatic take-down, with one trying to get away from police by running into a river, after they allegedly stole a Maserati.

A man and woman have been arrested and charged in a dramatic take-down, with one trying to get away from police by running into a river, after they allegedly stole a Maserati.

Police allege a 37-year-old Springfield Lakes man was pulled from his silver 2014 Maserati Ghibli when it stopped outside a Curlew Crescent house at Eagleby in Logan about 12.30am on Saturday.

Two people, not known to the man, left the scene in the allegedly stolen car. The 37-year-old man was not physically injured.

Police allegedly saw a car driving dangerously along Beenleigh-Redland Bay Rd about 10.30pm.

With help from the Polair chopper, police tracked the car and used tyre deflation spikes to stop it on Burchill St, Loganholme.

The pair allegedly abandoned the Maserati on Omaru St, Loganholme, and fled the scene on foot.

An 18-year-old Daisy Hill woman was arrested nearby while a 21-year-old man from Loganholme tried to evade police by running into the Logan River.

Police including officers from the Dog Squad and Water Police tracked the alleged driver and eventually arrested near the Logan Boat Ramp about 12.30am on Sunday. He was then taken to Logan Hospital with minor injuries.

The man was charged with one count each of robbery, unlicensed driving and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

The 18-year-old woman was charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, entering premises and committing an indictable offence, and two counts of receiving tainted property.

They were both due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Monday.
