A man has been charged over the death of a motorcycle rider after an alleged hit and run south of Brisbane on Sunday.

Quintin Rhys Carey-Voss, 28, of Minden, was charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death, driver failing to remain at incident and rendering assistance and driving of motor vehicle without a driver licence.

The unemployed Carey-Voss allegedly crashed his grey Nissan Navara into a blue Yamaha motorbike on Ripley Rd at the intersection with Undullah Rd in the Logan suburb of Lyons on Sunday morning.

Court documents revealed motorcyclist Trevor Bernd Wilson, 60, of Beenleigh, died at the scene.

Police said Carey-Voss continued north on Ripley Road after the incident, with documents alleging he ought reasonably to have known the other person had been killed and left the scene before a police officer arrived.

He also allegedly failed to immediately render assistance and make reasonable endeavours to obtain aid for the injured man.

The documents also alleged Carey-Voss was not the holder of a licence authorising him to drive the car on the road.

The matter was briefly mentioned in Ipswich Magistrates Court on Tuesday, with the defendant represented by defence lawyer Emily Fackender.

Magistrate Jason Schubert adjourned it for a day, requiring his physical appearance.

Carey-Voss was remanded in custody.

Initial investigations indicate a grey Nissan Navara and a blue Yamaha motorbike were involved in a head-on crash on Ripley Rd at Lyons, in Logan’s west, about 12pm.

The driver of the Nissan allegedly drove off after the crash, leaving the rider fighting for life on the side of the road.

Police on Monday confirmed the motorcyclist, a 60-year-old man from Beenleigh, died at the scene.

The Nissan Navara was allegedly found dumped on Wilsons Rd a short time later.

Police overnight on Monday arrested a 28-year-old man and charged him with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death, leaving the scene of a crash, and driving without a license.

He will face Ipswich Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
