Man charged with murder after death of Kara Jade Weribone

Police have charged a man with murder with reckless indifference after the daylight shooting of a woman in North Toowoomba on Wednesday.

Kara Jade Weribone, 27, was shot at a home on Christmas Street home in North Toowoomba at about 1.50pm on Wednesday.

Police have charged a 29-year-old man with murder with reckless indifference after the daylight shooting of Kara Jade Weribone in North Toowoomba.

The 27-year-old suffered multiple serious injuries and was reportedly shot several times with a rifle in Christmas St last Wednesday.

Emergency services arrived to find Ms Weribone in a critical condition and she was rushed to Toowoomba Hospital.

She could not be saved and her death sparked a homicide investigation.

Police continue to investigate the shooting death of Kara Weribone.

A 29-year-old man was arrested in Roma at 11.35am Saturday and has been charged with murder with reckless indifference.

He is expected to appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court on March 3.

Detectives continue to appeal for information and are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam or been in the vicinity of Christmas St, West St or Gladstone St around the time of the incident.

Anyone who has any information that may be able to assist the investigation is asked to contact police.
