A man has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly “repeatedly” driving over a woman with a 4WD following a confrontation over a burnout.
The man was only stopped from his alleged violent attack when another woman at the Moreton Bay property reversed a vehicle into his car, causing it to roll.
Initial investigations indicate the 27-year-old man was driving a white Nissan Patrol and performed a burnout in the backyard of a home in Namatjia Court, Caboolture, just after 11pm Saturday, police allege.
Police will allege a Sunshine Coast woman, 47, confronted the driver and in response he “drove over her repeatedly”, causing significant injuries to her left leg and foot.
She was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The man then allegedly drove around the property and rammed a car.
A 42-year-old woman at the home then used a vehicle to reverse into the Patrol, causing it to roll, according to police.
“The man then climbed out through the window of the heavily damaged Patrol and fled the scene on foot," police said in a statement.
A man, from Moonee in NSW, was arrested and has been charged with one count of attempted murder.
He is scheduled to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court on Monday.
All three people are understood to be known to each other.
