A man has been charged after allegedly assaulting multiple people including a police officer and causing damage to a statue outside a Loganholme swingers club in the early hours of Sunday.

Police have charged a 33-year-old Shailer Park man with two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm; wilful damage; and serious assault of a public officer, after emergency services were called to a business on Cairns Street at 12.41am Sunday.

Lindy and Phillip Simmonds, both in their 60s, own Taboo 22, the swingers club where the alleged incident took place.

Mrs Simmonds alleges it began when the 33-year-old man physically attacked her, before her husband stepped in to help but was also injured, as was a member of their staff.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said a man in his 40s had head, facial and hand injuries, and that a man in his 60s had facial injuries and a woman in her 60s had facial and shoulder injuries. All were taken to Logan Hospital.

“Patients were transported in a stable condition. A fourth patient, with a knee injury, was assessed but declined transport,” a QAS spokeswoman said.

The 33-year-old man is due to face the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on August 28.

Investigations are ongoing.
