Man charged after alleged stand-off with police shuts down streets in Bridgeman Downs
A man has been charged with the serious assault of a police officer after an incident that required part of a Brisbane suburb to be locked down amid fears he was armed.

A Brisbane man has been charged after police shut down streets and declared an emergency declaration in a suburb in Brisbane’s north on Tuesday morning.
An emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act was put in place at Bridgeman Downs just after 7.15am over reports of a man armed inside a house.
An exclusion zone was established encompassing Trouts, Albany Creek, Beckett and Hamilton roads.
Ross Walmsley, who lives behind a street swarmed by police, including heavily armed PSRT officers, said the street was “all blocked off”.
“So you just have to wait it out for a little while … I hope no one gets hurt,” he said.
The PSPA was later revoked, with police alleging a gel blaster had been found.
About 9am, an unarmed man in a plain black T-shirt was walked down the driveway of a Bangelow St home by two police officers.
There were no reports of any injuries or any shots fired.
A 33-year-old Bridgeman Downs man has been charged with two counts of serious assault of a public officer, and one count of failing to store restricted item.
He is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on June 17.
Investigations are ongoing.
