Police have charged a 30-year-old Logan Reserve man following two violent traffic incidents in Drewvale and Browns Plains.
It is alleged the man driving a Toyota Landcruiser intentionally rammed the rear of a Ford Focus on the Logan Motorway at Drewvale around 6.30pm on April 25.
The driver allegedly fired a weapon towards the family in the Ford Focus, injuring a female teenager who was shot in her leg.
Footage from a trailing car captured the moment the white Toyota Landcruiser swerved into the path of the family’s yellow Ford Focus on the Logan Motorway.
Days later on May 1, police allege the man then intentionally drove his Toyota Landcruiser into the rear of a different Ford Focus, mistakenly believing it was the same car from the previous incident.
This time a mother, Ava Skaines, and her seven-month old baby Eleanor were the occupants of the targeted Ford Focus.
Ms Skaines suffered whiplash and severe lower back pain following the incident.
Thanks to information obtained through Crimestoppers, police were able to locate the man at a Regents Park address on Saturday.
A search of the house found three firearms including a shortened shotgun.
Police are still attempting to locate the Toyota Landcruiser the man allegedly was driving in both incidents.
The man has been charged with two counts each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, disqualified driving and fail to provided details at traffic crash. He has also been charged with one count each of discharge weapon in a public place, carry loaded weapon in public place and wounding.
He was refused bail and will appear via videolink in the Richlands Magistrates Court on Monday, May 8.
