Kristen Leslie Olsen facing murder charges after Biggenden fire

A woman accused of the murder of a Biggenden baker and his daughter has had her charges mentioned in court with police revealing the latest on their brief of evidence.

The woman accused of murdering a baker and his daughter at Biggenden just days before Christmas has had her matter mentioned in court.

Kristen Leslie Olsen, 24, is charged with the murder of Biggenden baker Todd Mooney and his 10-year-old daughter Kirra as well as torching a shed on their Fenwick’s road property on December 20; a shed Todd and Kirra were sleeping in and died in.

Kristen Olsen has lived across Queensland from Cairns to the Fraser Coast.

Ms Olsen did not appear during the brief mention in Maryborough Magistrates Court on Monday, March 6, 2023.

Appearing for Ms Olsen, solicitor Bradford Hill said he was yet to receive a full or partial brief of evidence from the police.

Police prosecutor Claire Bibby said a murder brief was “a substantial brief that takes a long time for the investigation to be completed”, but there was material now waiting to be collected.

She said a partial brief of evidence was now available.

It was earlier reported that Ms Olsen appeared on social media as a tattooed travel blogger who had lived across Queensland from the Fraser Coast to Cairns, and listed Daydream Island Resort in the Whitsundays as her most recent employer.

She has been remanded in custody.

Magistrate John Milburn adjourned the matter until April 3, 2023.
