A man accused of murdering his former partner in an allegedly deliberate fire at her Chermside home has been committed to stand trial.
James Morton Mason, from Spring Hill, today appeared at a committal hearing in Brisbane Magistrates Court.
Mason is facing charges of murder and arson both domestic violence offences.
Police allege Mason intentionally set Alexis Parkes’ Bundal St property ablaze before he fled the scene on February 5, 2020.
Ms Parkes, 50, passed away in hospital just days after she was pulled from her burning home by emergency services.
After a short hearing Deputy Chief Magistrate Janelle Brassington committed Mason to the Supreme Court for trial.
