A high-flying Brisbane entrepreneur accused of running an online network centred around rape has been hit with 46 more child abuse offences.
William Wee Liat Tan, 49, the founder of Sieverts Group of Companies and the former chief financial officer for the Ms Oceania Pageant, faces a string of fresh charges including 42 counts of using a carrier service to transmit, make available, publish, distribute, advertise or promote child abuse material.
He has also been charged with two additional counts of administering a child exploitation material website, one extra count each of attempting to pervert justice and an offence involving conduct on three or more occasions and two or more people.
Tan, appearing in the short-sleeved green prison uniform via video link in Brisbane Arrest Court on Monday, said “hi” to Acting Magistrate Sue Ganasan when he was connected and nodded his head multiple times during the proceeding.
Solicitor Ruth Williams, of Williams and Williams, said her client was aware of the fresh charges.
She asked for them to be joint with the initial 34 charges and made no bail application.
Ms Ganasan adjourned the matter to February 2, 2026 in Brisbane Magistrates Court for committal mention.
Tan was arrested last month after police raided his two properties, seizing a large number of mobile phones, computers and storage devices.
He has since been charged with a total of 80 offences — including allegedly grooming an 11-year-old girl from overseas online.
The court previously heard he allegedly founded and administered an online group titled “Joy of Rape” which centred around “molesting and hardcore child sex, rape”.
He also allegedly encouraged another man in the United States to rape his 15-year-old daughter over the course of an online chat.
Ms Oceania has since dumped its co-founder Tan and has been under a rebranding.
Tan was remanded in custody.
