Thieves have raided the Maryborough Speedway just days after a successful night of racing marked a welcome turn for the beleaguered club.
Maryborough Speedway president Paul Swindells said those responsible had raided the canteen, stealing food and drinks and then the shed, stealing thousands of dollars worth of items.
That included compressors, tools, whipper snippers, IT equipment and other items, he said.
After consecutive weather cancellations for previous sprint car events, the club feared another washout over Easter but by Good Friday afternoon the skies had cleared.
Thousands were trackside for the event, which included the Wingless Sprint national titles.

Following the meet, the Maryborough Speedway Facebook page was inundated with positive comments from locals and visitors from as far away as Victoria.
The same page was updated on Tuesday with news of the break-in, which Mr Swindells said had left club members with a “heavy heart”.
Mr Swindells said the thieves had cut through the fence and jemmied the door open before stealing items from the canteen.
He said after the success of the event over Easter, it was disappointing for the not-for-profit club, which would now have to replace the items and bounce back.
Mr Swindells said the thieves had cut the power and spray painted over the security system.
Police had attended the scene on Tuesday to get fingerprints, he said.
