A masked trio has allegedly assaulted a woman and held her at knifepoint during a violent driveway carjacking in Brisbane’s south.
Darshi, 65, who did not want her last name given, claimed she was sitting in her black BMW when she was held at knifepoint by a male in her driveway on Cribb Rd, Carindale, just before 9am Thursday.
She said she was on her way home from dropping her grandson at school when she noticed three people, who she described as youths, following her home.
“I opened my garage and stopped my car, and they came straight away into my car door,” she said.
She said the group ran from across the road and into her garage.
She claims a male appeared at her driver’s seat and held a knife to her and yelled at the grandmother to get out of the car.
“‘Get out from the car, leave and gimme key, and don’t pick up a phone’, so I couldn’t talk on the phone,” she said the male ordered.
The shaken grandmother said the three were all wearing masks.
“I didn’t fight when I saw the knife,” she said.
Darshi was allegedly kicked during the incident, but was not seriously injured.
The trio left in Darshi’s black BMW.
Police urged anyone with information that can assist to contact them.
