Goodna man charged after impersonating a paramedic and assaulting female victims

An Ipswich man has been charged with rape and five counts of assault after allegedly impersonating an paramedic and assaulting several women.

Police will allege a 32-year-old Goodna man impersonated a paramedic to establish relationships with several women and provide “examinations”.

The man has been charged with five counts of common assault, as well as a count each of claiming to be qualified to practice as a health professional, rape, wilful damage and contravention of a domestic violence order.

Further, the man had allegedly assaulted a 28-year-old woman known to him on several occasions since 2019.

The most serious offending occurred after he claimed to be a paramedic and offered women medical advice, assistance and examinations at various times over the last three years.

The man was refused police bail and will appear in Richlands Magistrates Court today.

Investigations are continuing.
