A man has been taken to hospital following a significant fire at a Gold Coast unit.
The blaze broke out just before 10am today at the Rolan Ct complex in Palm Beach, with emergency crews arriving within minutes.
According to the Queensland Ambulance Service the man, aged in his 40s, was taken to the Gold Coast University hospital in a stable condition with burns to his head and face.
The unit was fully involved in flames, as at least four crews raced to put the blaze out.
The Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokeswoman said the fire had been extinguished by about 11.15am, and crews were still working to cool down hot spots for some time after the blaze was put out.
It’s believed the fire started in the ceiling of the unit complex and there was no significant fire threat to adjacent units.
