Police have arrested four Mongols bikies on the Gold Coast as part of their ‘relentless pursuit’ of outlaw motorcycle gangs.

Police have arrested four Mongols bikies on the Gold Coast as part of their ‘relentless pursuit’ of outlaw motorcycle gangs.

The four bikies and an associate were arrested on Wednesday during raids by officers from anti-bikie squad Taskforce Maxima.

They were charged with offences including extortion, assaulting police and habitual consorting.

The assault police charge against a 48-year-old Helensvale man stemmed from an incident last month when officers visited his home to issue an official consorting notice, a police spokesman said.

Detective Senior Sergeant Troy Lehmann, of Taskforce Maxim,a said police would continue to pursue outlaw motorcycle gang members on the Gold Coast to stop them consort in and deter them from ‘establishing, maintaining or expanding criminal networks’.

“The relentless pursuit of offences committed by OMCGs is in line with our commitment to make the Queensland community safe,” he said.
