‘Forever 19’: Tributes for young man killed in horror head-on collision with truck
Friends of the 19-year-old who died southwest of Brisbane when his ute collided head-on with a truck just minutes from his home on Monday night have vowed to “love him like a brother”, as a police call for the driver of a second truck to come forward.

Jaycob Young will be “forever 19.”
The young man died when his ute collided head on with a truck on the Cunningham Hwy late Monday night.
Mr Young was just minutes from home when he drove head first into the oncoming semi-trailer while trying to overtake another truck in Warrill View.
Despite the best efforts of emergency crews, including specially trained paramedics and the assistance of a rescue chopper, the 19-year-old could not be saved and died by the roadside about 10.15pm.
In the hours that followed his tragic death, his old school mates and those that knew him well paid tribute to Mr Young, who was loved “like a brother.”
“Rest in paradise brother,” one friend wrote online.
“I know your (sic) looking over me brother. I always love you like a brother.”
Another friend wrote: “I’m so sorry … it’s this way, I love you but you’re not here no (sic) more,” and “you’re in a better place now.”
“I loved you like you were my own brother and I’m so sorry … It’s not fair what happened to you,” the online tribute continued.
Another friend created a video montage of school memories together.
The video simply said “You will be missed Jaycob John Young. Forever 19.”
Police have made a specific appeal to for the driver of the truck Mr Young tried to overtake moments before the fatal collision to come forward.
The driver of the semi-trailer that collided with Mr Young’s ute was not physically injured in the crash.
The public are urged to make contact with police if the have any Dashcam footage, or any information that may assist investigators.
