An elderly man was fighting for life after a freak workplace incident at a golf course south of Brisbane.

An elderly man is in critical condition after being pulled from an overturned lawnmower at a golf club south of Brisbane.
It’s understood a ride on a lawnmower flipped and rolled down an embankment and into a lake at the Windaroo Lakes Golf Club about 7.30am on Wednesday.
It is understood the man was trapped under the overturned lawnmower and was pulled to safety.
Police were called to the golf club on Anna Louise Terrace following reports of a lawnmower crash.
“Police responded to an industrial incident at Windaroo this morning,” a Queensland Police spokesman said.
A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said a man in his 70s was transported in a critical condition to the Princes Alexandra Hospital at around 8am on Wednesday.
Windaroo Lakes Golf Club in a post to social media to its members said the individual involved incident is receiving care.
“As you may or may not be aware, there was a workplace accident this morning at Windaroo Lakes Golf Course. The individual involved is currently receiving excellent care at the PA Hospital,” the post said.
“A thorough investigation into the circumstances of the incident is underway. Our thoughts are with the injured person and their family during this time, and we’re all hoping for a full recovery. Please respect their privacy and the sensitivity of the situation.”
A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said one crew attended the scene for 15 minutes and were able to remove the mower from the water.
Workplace Health and Safety Queensland and Windaroo Lakes Golf Club have been contacted for comment.
