Two people had to be cut free from the wreckage of a vehicle which slammed into a fence north of Brisbane, with the pair rushed to hospital.
Emergency services were called to Myall Court in Narangba at 1:55pm after a car crashed into a fence, leaving the driver and one passenger trapped inside.
At 2:15pm, firefighters freed the passenger, a 17-year-old boy, using hydraulic cutting tools and escaped with minor injuries.
The driver, also a 17-year-old boy, was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious condition with potentially life-threatening injuries to the chest and head.
The passenger was also taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with minor injuries and remains in a stable condition.
Young Rd was closed off between New Settlement Rd and Cottonwood St, with motorists advised to avoid the area and expect delays.
It is understood parents of the nearby Narangba Valley State High School have been sent communications stating the roundabout near Young and Cottonwood Road has been closed off.
Parents were advised there may be delays in picking up students from school.
Narangba Valley State High School is 700m from the roundabout and 1.1km from Myall Court.
