Queensland Police are asking for the victim of an attempted carjacking in Logan to come forward and assist in their investigations.

Police will allege a 27-year-old New Beith man attempted to steal a white Ford Courier ute at Park Ridge on Wednesday about 2.20pm, in a bid to evade police.

A stolen dark grey Subaru Forester was allegedly observed by Polair to be driving dangerously on the Mount Lindesay Highway in the Browns Plains area earlier that afternoon.

A tyre deflation device was deployed by police on the Mount Lindesay Highway, successfully stopping the Subaru, before the driver fled on foot, before allegedly attempting to enter the white Ford Courier ute stopped at a red light.

The driver of the ute moved their vehicle to avoid the 27-year-old man, who was as a result, unable to gain access to the vehicle.

The New Beith man was arrested a short time later, and charged with three counts of possessing dangerous drugs, and one count each of obstruct police officer, dangerous operation of a vehicle and possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence under the Drugs Misuse Act.

He was denied bail and is due to reappear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Thursday, October 17.
