Police have released CCTV of two men they believed could assist with investigations into an alleged random coward punch attack.
A 52-year-old Brisbane man was waiting at a taxi rank along Queen Street in Brisbane’s CBD on May 10 when two men approached him and assaulted him.
In early June the victim was identified as Brisbane dad Andrew McKenzie who told 9 News what he could remember of the “normal work day in the city” that ended with him in hospital.
“I’ve got recollections of either waiting in a cab line, waiting in a bus line,” he told the network with no idea why the men allegedly set upon him.
“You know, I’m a 52-year-old guy in a business shirt and suit pants … with a computer rucksack over my shoulder, walking down the street.”
Mr McKenzie sustained a head injury and was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable condition.
The two men walked off in the direction of Elizabeth Street prior to police arrival.
Anyone who recognises the men is urged to contact police.
Police are also urging anyone with further information about the incident to come forward.
