On December 13, police allege a 23-year-old Clayfield man and two others accessed a Luckins St property around 9:30pm, before a 46-year-old male resident confronted them.
Police allege the 23-year-old man shot the 46-year-old in the abdomen with a firearm before the trio allegedly fled the scene.
Police previously said there had been a “verbal disagreement” before the homeowner was shot in the stomach.
It was understood the man’s wife and daughter were also at the home during the accident.
The 46-year-old man was taken to hospital in a stable condition and was discharged at 9am the next morning.
The 23-year-old Clayfield man was charged last week with one count each of enter dwelling with intent and attempted murder.
Residents said he the man left his gate open during the week for tradesmen who were working on the home.
But it was unknown at the time whether his gate had been open at the time of the break-in.
A few doors up on Luckins St, a mother said she heard the gunshot and was scared.
“It was so loud like a big bang,” she said.
He is due to face Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
